Whether through accident or decay, there is no doubt that losing teeth can have an emotional impact. At Atrium Dental we use Dental Implant technology to replace missing teeth, enhance and rejuvenate your smile and prevent bone deterioration.
Missing teeth can be a problem for your dental health and your own personal well-being. Dental Implants can be used in a variety of situations to help replace missing teeth.
Here at Atrium Dental, we will be able to help replace your missing teeth to restore your smile and improve your confidence, however your teeth came to be missing. A Dental Implant replaces the root of a tooth and it can be used to hold the visible part of the tooth, known as the crown. A single Dental Implant is needed to replace a single tooth, but not every missing tooth needs to have an implant beneath it – a bridge can be used, supported by several dental implants, to replace many teeth.
Your Dental Implant treatment journey starts with a FREE initial Consultation. This should provide you with a good understanding of what treatment will involve, the various orthodontic treatment options and an initial guide to costs.
Following your FREE initial Consultation, if you have decided to proceed with Dental Implant treatment, we will then undertake an in-depth clinical examination which typically includes x-rays as well as taking pictures of your teeth.
Following your clinical examination, we will create a bespoke Treatment Plan which we will present to you. This will provide you with all the information you need including Dental Implant treatment options and our recommendation as well as costs so that you can decide whether you would like to proceed.
First, the Dental Implant is placed in the jaw under local anaesthetic. The Dental Implant then needs to integrate fully with the jawbone. This process usually takes 3 months. It is possible to wear temporary dentures or bridges during the healing period.
Once the jaw has healed, the Dental Implant are uncovered, and impressions can then be taken and sent off to the laboratory to construct a custom-made crown or bridge that matches the natural teeth. Following this, your new replacement teeth are attached to the Dental Implant.
Part of your ongoing examination appointments will be checking for any issues and making sure the Dental Implants are ok.
